Starting out as a typesetter in 1975, he began writing poetry and fiction, and for several years wrote greeting cards and product texts for half a dozen publishers. Among others, he has been an assignment writer for Charisma magazine, and copyeditor for the publisher of the world-famous "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series. He currently is a Doctor of Ministry student with prior degrees in Journalism, Communication, and Religion.
